VIVEKA SHIKSHANA

Viveka Shikshana is a free coaching program aimed at helping economically disadvantaged school going students essentially from rural background, to achieve excellence in their studies and life. Viveka Shikshana is for 9th and 10th Standard students. Viveka Shikshana coaches students in English, Mathematics and Science after their regular class hours, for 2 hours a day, 5 days a week. Both boys and girls are eligible. A centrally located school is selected as a Viveka Shikshana center for that town/village and eligible students from surrounding schools are encouraged to participate. It is envisaged that every Viveka Shikshana Center will have about 100 students in a class, coached by 3 teachers. The program has so far been implemented in 5 schools across rural Karnataka and has seen more than 2000 students pass the SSLC exams with flying colours.

The goal is to entice students, especially girls who have discontinued their studies due to various reasons and compulsions. VSS is keen to see them return back to school and complete their basic education. This SSLC certification, apart from giving them a sense of pride, purpose and fulfillment, will open up a huge world of opportunities along with Government sponsored schemes.
