VIVEKANANDA SERVICE SOCIETY is a service organization which aims at serving the people of rural India by realizing and emulating the ideals of Swami Vivekananda : “Daridra Devo Bhava, Deena Devo Bhava”. 

Vivekananda Service Society envisions equity for all in the rural and tribal communities. It strives to improve the socioeconomic conditions of disadvantaged and deserving people and places by building local capacities in 3 major sectors: Education, Healthcare and Livelihood Empowerment.

Our Service Initiatives

VSP is a support-free education programme intended to focus on the rural students of marginal academic achievements.  It also aims to "minimise school drop-out cases" in the rural parts.  The VSP adopts students of 9th and 10th standards, both boys and girls, studying in Kannada medium.

A scheme of pre-vocational education to impart training in simple marketable skills and to develop vocational interests and guidance is to be the broad areas of agriculture, business and commerce, engineering and technology, health and paramedical, home science and science and technology focus of this.

Is a light for education (LFE) program initiated in association with SELCO foundation. Program involves free solar lamp distribution to rural students with a charging unit being installed at the school. A fully charged solar lamp will provide effective illumination for seven hours. 

The program involves supply of of projectors, TVs and other equipment along with study materials for 8th, 9th and 10th standard class rooms to improve the subject content and academic achievements of the school students.

The program involves funding the infrastructure improvements such as rooms, electric power supply, toilets, drinking water supply, internet facilities for classrooms at high schools. 

The program involves supply of uniforms, note books to poor students of Government / Aided / Private Schools who have poor funds, supply of benches for class rooms of these schools. The program also involves funding the college fee of meritorious and poor students to enable them to continue higher education. 

The program envisages funding the medical and hospital treatment expenses for poor students studying at schools.
